Remain conscious of
your thoughts —
your patterns and
your dreams.

Let your energy expand,
become a light.
It’s your turn-
time to beam.

I began writing poetry during the ‘morning pages’ exercise in Julia Cameron’s book The Artist’s Way. I learned the art of stream of consciousness writing and have been practicing it ever since.
It seems to uncover secrets that I didn’t know existed,
and opens doors to new worlds and layers of creativity.

The poem and drawing above both communicate the key ideas I have been journaling about lately (as described below).

Positive energy spirals upward,
toward the light and higher vibrations.
It is expansive and growing.
It brings you success and balance
and is built through continuous effort.
Gratitude. Love. Connection. Nature.

Negative energy is a downward spiral.
It is heavy and dark.
Ready to pull you into patterns
and into collapse.
It gains control when you spin into auto-pilot —
when you act with a lack of intention.
Hate. Anger. Control. Suppression.
